As a proud Texas native, Attorney Michele Y. Garza was born in Victoria and raised in the Dallas area. Her interest in the law came naturally, as she spent many days in her father's law office as she grew up. It was there that she learned the importance of the law and the impact that an attorney can have on the lives of those in need. When it came time for college, Michele decided to go to school locally, attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas so that she could remain close to her family and continue helping at her father's law office.
She would eventually graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1991 with immediate plans to begin law school. After being accepted into the Oklahoma College of Law, Michele decided to leave the Dallas area and forge her own legal path. While studying law in Oklahoma, Michele discovered an intense passion for not only the law but helping others pursue justice when faced with difficult circumstances. It was in law school that Michele decided to focus her efforts on the areas of family law and personal injury. When she graduated from the Oklahoma College of Law in 1995, she ventured out into the world of private practice, focusing on cases involving personal injury, workers' compensation, and family law.
"I understand that what you’re going through isn’t easy. I’m here to help you find a solution that’s best for you and your family."
After working in private practice in the state of Oklahoma, Michele felt a strong desire to return home to Texas to be closer to both her family and the community that played such a big part in her successful career. In 2011, Michele and Marc formed the Garza Law Firm, LLLP in Austin, Texas. Later, in 2013, they moved their successful practice to Dallas where they had both grown up. Michele focuses her practice around the two areas of law she's always been drawn to most: family law and estate planning.
Since 2011, Michele and her brother Marc have been committed to working with clients across the Dallas area to help resolve issues of family law, estate planning, and probate matters.
When she's not advocating for her clients, Michele serves as a Board Member of the Board of Trustees for the Winston School of Dallas. In addition, she is currently a volunteer for the Dallas-Fort Worth Cocker Spaniel Rescue Group and a former volunteer for the Dorothy O' Connor Pet Adoption Center in Victoria, Texas. Michele is also a member of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is also a proud mom to two rescue pups, Cassie and Jax.
Through it all, Michele continues to value her work as a dedicated attorney for individuals and families in and around the Dallas area. She believes that every client deserves compassion and respect, regardless of their circumstances, and strives to maintain open communication with every client from start to finish.
